August 13, 1957 – Saskatoon, Saskatchewan

February 15, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Dale Fallis of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully with family by his side at Calgary’s Foothills Medical Centre on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at the age of 65 years.

Dale was born in Saskatoon, SK, on August 13, 1957. In 1962, he moved to Calgary, AB, where he later met Carlee Oshiro and together, they raised three children, Cole, Chase, and Cali.

Dale was a certified Communication Electrician and worked with AGT/Telus for 36 years. He was part of the construction team that was responsible for supplying areas with copper and fibre optic cables. This work also required Dale to climb telephone poles and descend into manholes.

During his spare time, Dale took pleasure in volunteering and donating to various charitable organizations, such as the Heart and Stroke Foundation. He also spent many of his days off by sitting out in the sun, gardening, and relaxing in his hot tub listening to his favorite albums. On the weekends, he could be found cooking different recipes, which are now his kids’ favorite dishes that they still enjoy today.

After his retirement from AGT/Telus in 2014, Dale spent his time going for walks outdoors, relaxing on his balcony in the sunshine, watching his favorite sports and hunting channels, and travelling to Mexico with his sister Brenda.

Dale excelled at many sports including softball, skiing, golf, and hockey. His passion and enthusiasm for hockey grew and eventually led to him coaching his kids on the ice. Whether it was spending time at the hockey arena or the soccer dome, he was always excited to support and cheer on his kids with their various recreational activities.

Dale was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. His love of the outdoors led him to purchase a boat that he would frequently take out to Badger Lake each summer with his kids, family, and friends. When he wasn’t camping or fishing, Dale did a lot of big game hunting with his bow and arrow. He also enjoyed going out with his buddies on hunting trips for geese and pheasants.

Dale is survived by his two sons, Cole and Chase; his daughter Cali and her husband Tyson; brother Mel and his wife Debbie; sister Brenda; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and their families. Dale was predeceased by his parents, Melvin and Norma; and brother-in-law, John ‘Buzz’.

Dale’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Calgary’s Foothills Medical Centre for their care and compassion during this difficult time.
