Obituary of Catherine Christine Beeharry
Kitty was born with strong roots that branched into countless blossoms wherever this hardy and beautiful perennial was transplanted. She passed away, with her family close beside, in her Calgary home from Glioblastoma. She was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and went to school in the Liberties. Kitty met Raj at a Christmas Eve party, and after she spent some time working in London, Kitty and Raj would marry and move to Mauritius. In 1971 they immigrated to Canada where they lived in Ontario, Alberta and eventually settled in Foam Lake, Saskatchewan, where they spent close to 30 happy years raising their family. After they moved to Calgary seeking new adventures, Kitty enjoyed spending much of her time as an involved and loving grandparent.
Kitty was predeceased by her best friend and beloved husband, Raj; she will be lovingly remembered by her children, Emma, Sunil (Carmen), Neena, and Tara (Thor). Her nine grandchildren, Magnus, Nadia, Taigh, Jordan, Senan, Kiran, Quinn, Liam and Nia will dearly miss their caring and affectionate Nanny. Kitty’s nieces and nephews, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law will keep her warmth and kindness close. Kitty is survived by her dear sisters, Colette and Breda and was predeceased by her parents, Christine (nee Christine Byrne) and Thomas O’Reilly, all of Dublin. Among Kitty’s favourite things were reading (and reading and reading), gardening, music, endless blue prairie skies, and spending time with friends and family sharing a meal or a nice cup of tea.
