With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father and grandfather Sardar Sarmukh Singh Tamber.  He is survived by his sons Manjinder, Baljinder, daughter in-laws Harmeet, Hardeep and seven grandchildren.

Born in Rampur Jhanjowal, Hoshiarpur, Punjabi.  Sarmukh Singh was the youngest of five siblings in the family. Upon getting married to Late Sardarni Jagir Kaur in 1972, Sarmukh Singh had his two children close after. In 2003, Sarmukh Singh first visited Canada, later retuning to India. On October 2nd, 2012, He immigrated to Canada, making Calgary his new home with his youngest son and family.  Sardar Sarmukh Singh served as a teacher at the Sarkare Primary school at Rampur Jhanjowal. Teaching was a great passion of his as even moving to Canada he loved helping his grandchildren with their homework. At the age of 65, he retired happily in 2002 in India.

Sarmukh Singh enjoyed farming back home but coming to Canada his passion carried on to gardening in his own backyard. He was blessed to have been surrounded by family everyday and was able to live a happy life. In his own mind and words, he considers to be truly capable in many life situations which we all truly admired. Sardar Sarmukh Singh was always hard working and a great teacher to his students and family back in India. He will be remembered for the love and respect that he shared with his family and for his determination and courageous nature that he had.
