Obituary of Stephen (Steve) FRASER
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steve, our kind and gentle father, son, brother and friend, who has left this world and gone fishing.
Steve was born in Calgary and the second oldest of a large family including three brothers and two sisters. He attended St. John Brebeuf Elementary and Junior High School, St. Francis High School and pursued a career in surveying following his completion of the surveying program at Olds College and NAIT.
Steve had a great passion for the outdoors and could be found fishing with his brothers at his favourite spots including the Bow River, Crawling Valley Reservoir and White Tail Lake. Steve loved all sports: golfing, slow pitch, water skiing, quadding, snowmobiling and downhill skiing. He spent many summers enjoying his outdoor pursuits at his parent’s cabin in Terravista, British Columbia.
Steve had a passion for travel and visited far away places such as Costa Rica, Cuba, Australia, Jamaica, Dominican Republic and Mexico.
Steve will be remembered for his warm and easy nature. He had an infectious chuckle that made us all smile and laugh along with him.
Steve loved his family and more than anything, his daughter Chantel, whom he treasured above all else.
Steve leaves behind many family and friends including his daughter Chantel (Patrick) Smith; stepsons Joey (Joyce) and Jason Seaborne; parents Gordon and Beverly Fraser; siblings Cory Fraser, Stuart (Miriam) Fraser, Anne (David) Hardy, Mitch (Kim) Fraser and Caron (Matt) Bridgwater; numerous nieces and nephews including a special bond with Kaelan Fraser.
A celebration of Steve’s life will take place at a later date.
